App ecoGator launched to the public

17. 10. 2014

The EcoGator app equips shoppers with independent shopping advice via their Android and iOS device so they can snap up the best available products without getting lost in today's maze of unclear labels and marketing hype.

Drawing on a regularly updated list of the best lighting, TVs, washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, freezers and dishwashers on the market, it offers advice to consumers when they need it most – in store.

Shoppers can use their phone’s camera to scan energy labels and find out how much appliances will cost the average home (per country) to run each year. Another feature allows users to filter products based on personal priorities, such as low noise levels.

The campaign is backed by the EU Intelligent Energy Europe project with NGO partners in Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and the Czech Republic. For more information visit http://www.myeconavigator.eu/
