The Come On Labels project final event will take place on March 15., 2013 in Brussels. At the event, the main project outcomes and achievements will be discussed, and participants from all types of stakeholders will discuss their opinions on the new energy labels. Project´s shop visit results presented in Italy

ENEA, the Italian project partner, co-organised the project event with the Italian office of CECED on December 12, 2012. The results of the shop visits have been one of the main discussion points. Find the presentation and CECED´s press release (in Italian) here.

New energy label bookmarks in 800 libraries in Latvia

The Latvian Come On Labels project partner, Ekodoma, has issued four types of bookmarks that cover the basic information about the new labels, printed in 40 000 pieces. At the beginning of the year 2013 around 800 libraries in Latvia will receive these bookmarks in order to inform their readers and consumers on what kind of information is available on the new energy label and to help them to understand individual pictograms. In addition, there’s a small energy efficiency advice on each bookmark. It is planned that part of bookmarks will be distributed not only in libraries, but also during educational presentations and events. Find the bookmarks, in Latvian language, here.
Document on International Comparison of Product Certification and Verification Methods for Appliances added to the project library

A study published by the US based Berkeley National Laboratory on the International Comparison of Product Certification and Verification Methods for Appliances has been added to the project website's library section. The document uses several references to the information elaborated within the Come On Labels project. Find the document here.
Training to families committed to save energy in Latvia

The Latvian project partner, Ekodoma, has organised two seminars in December 2012 for families committed to undertake practical steps to save energy in their households. Find more information here.
Results of shop survey in Italy

In cooperation with a professional market research company, the Italian project partner has conducted a shop survey in 54 shops around Italy, investigating the presence of energy labels. The results, described in the attached document, are analysed per shop and product type, investigatet he presence of old and new energy labels, as well as provide an analysis of proper label displa by region, in correlation to the product price and functional parameters of the producs offered for sale. Retailer training seminars organised in Italy

The Italian project partner, ENEA, is working with CECED Italia and the national retailer Association to educate retailers about the proper display of energy labels at the points of sale. First two seminars have taken place in November 2012 in Padova and Bologna, attended by 90 and 50 participants, respectively. More seminars are planned for January 2013, which will take place in Bari, Firenze, and Catania. Nine type of leaflets on energy labels published in Germany

ÖkoInstitute, the German project partner, in collaboration with the Rheinland Pfalz consumer agency has published nine types of leaflets, focusing on product groups bearing the energy label. The leaflets give advice to consumers on the best selection and service of products in order to achieve higher efficiency. All documents are available here or here.

The German project partner has translated the project´s document on product energy labelling compliance tests into German, so that it can be more accessible and negoatiated with stakeholders in German speaking countries.

Come On Labels retailer training in Malta

The Maltese project partner, Projects in Motion Ltd, in collaboration with the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority organised a retailer training at APLAN appliances, The Atrium.

Articles on shop visits in the Czech Republic

Four articles on the results of the second round of shop visits within Come On Labels project have been published in Czech magazines.
The articles summarize the main results of the shop visits during which compliance of retailers with the energy labelling directive is monitored.

Come On Labels´ retailer training manual used in Finland

While Finland is not directly repesented in the Come On Labels project, the Finnish company Motiva has used the retailer training manual and adapted it to its national conditions.
The document has been used for training sessions with retailer chains representatives and consumer energy advisors.

Czech market surveillance authority shop visits in 2012

The Czech market surveillance authority, the State Energy Inspection visits 280 shops in 2012.
So far (status of 10/2012) non-compliance in proper label display has been found in 36% of the shops visited (256).
